Primary Hip

The Primary Hip course will instruct participants on the anterior supine surgical approach.  Additionally, the course will address issues in Primary THA such as leg length, offset and version, cup positioning, and bearing surfaces.   As a result of the course, participants will be able to:

  • explain key aspects of the anterior supine surgical technique and relevant anatomical considerations when performing the procedure
  • describe surgical techniques, such as appropriate broaching and cup placement, relevant to featured primary hip implants
  • practice key aspects of the anterior supine surgical technique
  • demonstrate the proper implantation and use of hip implants from an anterior supine approach
